Foster Youth Voice Celebration

You are cordially invited to attend the Colorado Foster Youth Voice Celebration on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at the historic El Paso County Courthouse in Colorado Springs. This free event celebrates young people with foster care experience who have used their voices to improve their lives or the lives of other young people in Colorado’s foster care system. More than a dozen young people aged 18-30 will be honored.

The event coincides with National Foster Youth Voice Month, created by The Selfless Love Foundation to recognize that young people in foster care deserve a say in decisions that affect them. It’s a way to showcase the many ways young people are transforming the child welfare system for the better. Last year’s Celebration was held in Denver. Honorees received certificates, dinner, an opportunity to speak, and rounds of applause. Their powerful speeches are available here. Honorees left feeling heard and valued. Attendees left feeling informed and inspired. This year’s Celebration promises to be just as powerful!

This event is sponsored by the Office of the Child Protection Ombudsman of Colorado (CPO), the Office of the Child’s Representative (OCR), the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), and the Colorado Supreme Court’s Court Improvement Program (CIP). Refreshments will be served.
