On July 1, 2026, the CPO published the results of a statewide survey of residential child care facilities in Colorado examining the use of physical infrastructure to prevent youth from running away from out-of-home care. In accordance with Senate Bill 25-151, the survey gathered input from facility leaders throughout the state on the types of infrastructure their facilities currently have in place, their assessment of whether that infrastructure is effective at preventing runs and their perspectives on additional infrastructure needs.
The CPO is hosting two open calls to discuss the report and answer any questions regarding the methodology or information in the report. The second call will be held from 11 a.m. to 22 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
This meeting will be held via Zoom. The link and Zoom information are provided below. This meeting will be recorded and posted to the CPO’s website for others to review.
